The Judicial Council is established under the Judicature Act of the Maldives and is chaired by the Chief Justice. It is the supreme administrative body of the judiciary, responsible for coordinating and overseeing the administration of courts throughout the country.
The Council meets regularly to deliberate on policy and administrative matters affecting the justice system.
Functions & Mandate
- Coordinate the administration of justice across all courts of the Maldives
- Establish uniform rules and standards for the conduct of court proceedings
- Approve the annual judicial budget proposal
- Issue policy guidelines on judicial administration and procedure
- Deliberate on matters referred by the Chief Justice concerning the functioning of the judiciary
- Maintain and promote judicial independence and integrity
ފަނޑިޔާރުންގެ މަޖިލިސް ވުޖޫދަށް ގެނެވިފައިވަނީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ކޯޓުތަކާ ބެހޭ ޤާނޫނުގެ ދަށުންނެވެ. ރިޔާސަތު ބަލަހައްޓަވަނީ އުއްތަމަ ފަނޑިޔާރެވެ. ރާއްޖޭގެ ހުރިހާ ކޯޓެއްގެ ހިންގުން ރާވައި ބެލެހެއްޓުމަކީ ޝަރުޢީ ދާއިރާގެ އެންމެ ތިލަ ހިންގުމުގެ ޒިންމާއެވެ.
ކައުންސިލް ގަވާއިދުން ބައްދަލުވެ ޝަރުޢީ ނިޒާމަށް ގުޅޭ ސިޔާސަތާ ހިންގުމުގެ ކަންތައްތަކުގައި ވިސްނޭ.
