The Chief Justice serves as the head of the Supreme Court and the judiciary of the Maldives, appointed by the Judicial Service Commission subject to parliamentary approval in accordance with Article 147 of the Constitution.
Records prior to the establishment of the current Supreme Court under the 2008 Constitution are maintained by the National Archives of the Maldives.
ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީގެ 147 ވަނަ މާއްދާގެ ދަށުން، މަޖިލީހުގެ ފާސްކުރުމާއެކު ފަނޑިޔާރުންގެ ޚިދުމަތުގެ ކޮމިޝަންގެ ލަފާއާ އެއްގޮތަށް ޢައްޔަންކުރެވޭ އުއްތަމަ ފަނޑިޔާރަކީ، ސުޕްރީމް ކޯޓާއި ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޝަރުޢީ ނިޒާމުގެ އިސްވެރިޔާއެވެ.
2008 ވަނަ އަހަރުގެ ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީގެ ދަށުން މިހާރުގެ ސުޕްރީމް ކޯޓު އުފެދުމުގެ ކުރިންގެ ރެކޯޑްތައް ބެހެއްޓެނީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޤައުމީ އާރކައިވްސްގައެވެ.

Oversaw expansion of the Court's jurisprudence in constitutional and administrative law.ޝަރުޢީ އަދި ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީ ތަރައްޤީގެ މުހިންމު ދުވަސްތަކެއްގައި ޚިދުމަތްކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީ އަދި އިދާރީ ޤާނޫނުގެ ދާއިރާގައި ކޯޓުގެ ފިޤްހު ފުޅާކުރުމަށް ބެލެހެއްޓެވިއެވެ.
